Vegan Apple Crisp

This recipe is perfect for beginners and is quick and easy to prepare.

🍏 Ingredients

For the filling:

  • 6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well), peeled & sliced
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch (or arrowroot)
  • 2 tbsp water

For the crumble topping:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour (or almond flour for gluten-free)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegan butter or coconut oil, melted
  • Pinch of salt

🍽️ Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare apples: In a large bowl, mix sliced apples with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, cornstarch, and water until coated. Spread evenly in a greased baking dish.
  3. Make the topping: In another bowl, combine oats, flour, sugar, and salt. Mix in melted vegan butter until crumbly.
  4. Assemble: Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples.
  5. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
  6. Cool slightly before serving.

  • Serve warm with vegan vanilla ice cream or coconut whipped cream.
  • For extra crunch, add chopped pecans or walnuts to the topping.
  • If you like it less sweet, reduce the sugar in the filling.
